Obituary for Joan Keighley (Snyder)

Keighley, Joan (Snyder) – Passed away peacefully in her 95th year on February 27, 2022. Now reunited with her loving husband Harold Keighley (1997). Born in Syracuse, New York on December 9, 1927, Joan immigrated with her parents to Hamilton as a child and then once married lived in Burlington for more than 70 years. She was a proud homemaker and gardener, avid reader of all fiction and active volunteer with numerous organizations including the RBG, Meals on Wheels and was past President of the Women’s Canadian Club of Hamilton. She also enjoyed traveling with family and friends well into her eighties. She was a loving and supportive mother of David (Caroline), Kathleen Estok (David), and Mark (Marjorie Swett). Proud Grandma of Erin (George Pavlou), Cameron, Alison (JordanThomson), and Brent. Great Grandma of Nora Pavlou and James Thomson. Beloved Aunt of Carolyn Keighley (Greg Cappelli) and Lorraine (Steve Futterman). The family expresses special thanks to Cama Woodlands Long Term Care Home for their exceptional care of Joan over the last year. Cremation has taken place. Private interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in memory of Joan would be appreciated.
