DAVIS, Joan Gale (nee Sherwood)
Passed away peacefully at Martha’s Landing in Burlington on Thursday, April 22, 2021 just shy of her 85th birthday. Predeceased by loving husband and best friend of 46 years Lawrence “Larry” Davis (2002). Devoted mother of Cathy Davis (Derek Mansell), Judy Taugher (Matt), Sharon Ralph (Dave), Jill Bond (Dave) and Shawn Drahaschnig (Heinz). Proud grandmother of Paige Sheehan (Conor), Mitchell Taugher (Jessica), Cooper Taugher (Brittney), Chris Ralph, Scott Ralph (Sarah), Becky Ralph (Zihni Kaleci), Joel Bond (Lauren), Dale Bond (Sabrina Arruda) and Quinn Drahaschnig. Cherished great-grandmother of Tucker Taugher, Willie-Mae Taugher and two more on the way! Dear sister of the late Harvey Sherwood (Ruth), Gladys Stewart (Jack), Ward Sherwood (Mary) and the late Bobby Sherwood. Joan will also be dearly missed by the extended Sherwood and Davis families as well as numerous friends. Joan will be fondly remembered for the deep love and appreciation she had for her family, her passion for keeping her hands busy with playing the piano or knitting, and her love for the Toronto Blue Jays! Special thank you to the nurses and support staff at Martha’s Landing for their kindness, compassion and the excellent care provided to Joan in the last few years. As per her wishes, private cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joan to Camp Ooch (www.ooch.org) would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
