Obituary for Jennie Oakes (Michalewitz)
OAKES, Jennie (nee Michalewitz) -
Passed away peacefully at Mount Nemo Christian Nursing Home in Burlington on Friday, July 10th, 2020 at the age of 93. Predeceased by loving husband Peter Oakes (2011). Devoted mother of Larry Oakes, Ronald Oakes (Rudina) and Patricia Oakes (William Lake). Proud grandmother of Courtney Oakes and Adam Oakes (Aleksandra), and cherished great-grandmother of Peter, Conor, Ksavier and Lilja. Dear sister of Agnes Oddi (Angelo), Helen Elesie, late Frank Michalewitz (Vivian), late Rose Jones (late Eric), late Valerie DeBenedetti (late James), and late Albin Michalewitz (late Mildred). Jennie will also be fondly remembered by the extended Oakes and Michalewitz families as well as numerous friends. Jennie was all about Family. That was the priority in her life. She extended her positive, caring, and compassionate nature to everyone around her. Special thank you to the doctors, nurses and support staff at Mount Nemo Christian Nursing Home for their kindness, compassion and the excellent care provided. There are too many to mention by name, as they are an “exceptional” Team of dedicated individuals. As per Jennie’s wishes, Private Cremation has taken place and no formal services will be held. Interment to be held at a later date, White Chapel Memorial Gardens – Hamilton. As an expression of sympathy, and in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jennie to Mount Nemo Christian Nursing Home in Burlington would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
