Passed away on Friday, June 14, 2019, in her 96th year. Beloved wife of the late Francis (Frank) Swanson (1997). Loved mother of Frank (Karen), Fred (Janet), Jim (Lia) and David. Cherished grandmother of Jim, Spencer and Mike. Dear sister of Carl Johnston and the late Margaret Taylor, Burt Johnston, Fred Johnston, Rita Loveless and Eva O'Riordan. Dear sister-in-law of Isabelle and Vic Simpson. As a young woman, Jean was a proud Registered Nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital in Peterborough where she met her husband Frank. After they married, she devoted herself to raising her family and enjoyed a full, rich life. Jean was a long-time member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Grimsby. She will be sorely missed. A private family service and interment at Queen's Lawn Cemetery have taken place. If desired, memorial contributions to West Lincoln Memorial Auxiliary would be sincerely appreciated by the family.

I was one of the lucky ones who got to spend time with Jean. We had many good times together during my visits and I will miss her smile and her kindness. Thank you for inviting me into your lives. May you find peace knowing that your Mom was loved by all who knew her. Lee xoxo

My deepest sympathy to Mrs. Swanson's family. I knew the family during my years of teaching at Grand Avenue school. Mrs Swanson invited me for lunch on several occasions. I enjoyed knowing the family and have many happy memories of Mrs Swanson and her wonderful family.

Frank, Fred, Jim, and David, and extended family, please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of your Mother. Always remembered for her generosity and hospitality, as well as putting up with our various shenanigans as young folks. May she rest well, and in peace, reunited with your dad.
Regards to All, Steve Djuric
