Obituary for Jake Robert Haycock

Passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2019, at the age of 47. Beloved son of Janice (Bob) and Ross Warden. He will be deeply missed by his love Nicole Clark and her daughter Kristen. Loving father of Marshall and Georgia. Cherished brother of Lisa Mayer (Mike), Chris (Lisa), Mike, Becky and Rob. Loving grandson of Eleanor Haycock and Miriam Warden. Predeceased by his grandparents, Jack Elson, Isabelle Elson, Al Warden and Duncan Haycock. Jake will also be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Jake was a good-natured, hard-working businessman who will be missed by everyone in the Hearing Healthcare Industry. He was President and CEO of Widex Canada and North America, one of the top hearing aid manufacturers in both Canada and the US. He provided guidance and assistance to many. He also went back to school to develop his clinical skills as a Hearing Instrument Practitioner while working as CEO for Unitron – another top hearing aid manufacturer in Canada. Jake never boasted about his accomplishments. He was always humble and kind. He was always appreciative and grateful for everything wonderful that came his way.

Jake was a natural athlete who loved all sports. He played football, baseball, hockey, and achieved his black belt in Tae Kwon Do. He was an avid Raptors, Maple Leafs, and Blue Jays fan. He developed a passion for skiing and learned how to ski in Whistler B.C., conquering the BC black diamonds on his third day which is quite an accomplishment.

Jake was always fun to be around. People were always drawn to him. His sense of humour, quick wit, warm heart, loving nature and the ability to light up any room he entered will be missed by all.

A devoted father, Jake would give anything and everything for his kids.
