Obituary for Jack (John) William Greenwood

Greenwood, Jack (John) William
On Saturday May 26, 2018 at the age of 95. He had a life long love affair with the late Audrey, his wife of 69 years, loving father of Terry (the late George), John (Dianne), Jeff (Harriet), and Tricia (Jeffie), doting grandfather to Leslie (Dave), Chris, Jocelyn, Marissa, Benjamin, Jacob, Colin and David and adored great grandfather of twins Madeline and Riley. Jack was a pattern maker by trade, and a Petty Officer in the Canadian Navy during WW2. He taught woodworking with the Hamilton Board of Education for 30 years and has been proudly retired for 38. A true gentleman, good friend, great conversationalist, a creative and adventurous man, Jack was a voracious reader, enjoyed woodworking, painting, playing bridge and cribbage, small game hunting, fishing, camping, gardening and traveling the world. Most of all, he loved his family and we loved him. He was truly blessed, and so were we. A special thanks to the staff at Tansley Woods, who took special care of Jack over the past four and a half years, his dear friend Charlotte, and to the staff at Joseph Brant Hospital (Dr. Mills, Jessica, Tanya and Kay, in particular) for your care and compassion. Private family interment. A Celebration of Jack's Life will be held at the Art Gallery of Burlington, 1333 Lakeshore Road, Burlington on Monday, June 11, 2018 at 2p.m. If wished, donations to the Burlington Public Library in memory of Jack would be appreciated.
