For all the wonderful memories especially when we drove together from Calgary through the Rockies to Vancouver where Laurie and Hilda were attending Kenny’s sons wedding.
Thinking of you all at this sad time, from all the Bennet’s here in the UK and in America.
Curt and Pat xx.

Dearest Laurie, Vanessa, Grant, and extended family,

Nick and I are sending our love to you all. I know Lesley and Peter also share in our sadness as we look back at the many, many memories we made together as best friends. From house boating to Delmonte in the Pines, the Pig & Whistle to the many gatherings on Delaware and Shoreacres. Our lives have taken us in new directions but we will always look back fondly at the wonderful friendship between kids and parents that we shared. Looking forward to an official celebration when the time comes.

All our love, Michelle & Nick

Dear Laurie and Vanessa, Grant & families,
We were all very saddened by “Cuz’s” passing last week ... although we accept that after all of her courageous and lengthy struggles, hardships, pain and suffering, she is now at peace.
Carol will always remember her as being a wonderful example whilst we were growing up in Brighton England and of course my husband Alan and I fondly remember Laurie and Cuz’s wedding at Holy Trinity Church in Bramley South Africa ... where we got married a few years later. Although we have never met Vanessa & Grant – we have many photos and of their children through the years of Cuz’s wonderful “spiels”! It was also really super to have them with us here in Randburg during February 1997 – we reminisced like crazy, and gathered all her Joburg friends together for a surprise party .... so special ! She also enjoyed our 3 children – Leanne & husband Colin and baby Cassie, also Justin and Gavin. All of our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time Laurie and we will definitely be thinking of you tomorrow, Wednesday 15th April as you say your final farewells to a wonderful, fun-filled and adventurous lady who was a shining star to all of us.
God bless you all, Much love from Carol & Alan, Kristen, Gavin & Leigh & family in SA as well as Leanne & Colin and family and Justin in NZ.

AWAY FROM IT ALL – by Patience Strong
Away from the dust and the fume-laden air
Away from the crowds and the din and the blare.
Away to the country, the fields and the trees –
To the smell of the earth and the health-giving breeze.

Away from the news; and the strife and unrest –
To the quiet of a place where the soul can be blessed –
To somewhere unspoilt where the tired eyes can see –
This beautiful world as God meant it to be.
