Obituary

Helen D. Frankum
(nee Munroe)

Born Sydney, Nova Scotia July 5, 1921
Passed away Burlington, Ontario January 27, 2020

Helen passed away peacefully on Monday with her family by her side. Beloved wife of the late Harry Frankum and mother to Anne and Kenneth (Mary) grandmother to Geoffrey, Sheena, James, Peter and John. She also will be dearly missed by her sister Lorraine Delaney of Sydney NS. Helen was the oldest of six children born to Agnes and Daniel Munroe. She attended Sydney Academy and Graduated from the Sydney City Hospital with her RN working in many different areas of medicine though out her career. Being a Nurse was the perfect career for Helen as she was a natural caregiver and infinitely organized. We will remember her sense of humour and the gentle support she gave to many. Dementia made life difficult for Helen in her last years, part of her personality had faded along with her memories, even so she always enjoyed a funny story over a cup of tea.
Helen was predeceased by her husband Harry, her son Blair and son-in-law Steve MacNeil. The Family would like to thank the staff at Burloak Long Term Care facility for their care, compassion and love for our Mom. Cremation has taken place. A private interment will be held at a later date. Charitable donations in Helen’s memory may be made to The Salvation Army.
