Hal passed away peacefully on March 26, 2019 in Burlington, Ontario at the age of 92. He was predeceased in October 2018 by Dorothy, his loving wife of 64 years. He will be mourned by sisters Pauline Nicholson and Dona Armstrong, and sister-in-law Helen (John) Sobchak, numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews. Hal was a true gentleman who could strike up a conversation with anyone. Hal and Dorothy enjoyed friendships in golf, curling, travel, playing cards and neighbours. His lifelong friends from Barrie were important to him. A Service of Remembrance will be held at St Christopher's Anglican Church (662 Guelph Line, Burlington) on Saturday, April 6 at 4:30 p.m. Reception to follow. Cremation has taken place. Interment St James Cemetery, Toronto at a later date. For those who wish, donations made in memory of Hal to The Salvation Army, St. Christopher's Anglican Church, or to the charity of one's choice would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
