Peacefully, surrounded by his family, at The Carpenter Hospice, Burlington, on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at the age of 73. Beloved husband of Heather (nee Cation) for 47 years. Loving father of Leanne Jacobs (Ric), Richard (Leanne) and Kevin (Natalie). Cherished Grandpa of Kya, Ryland, Jaks, Lincoln, Nicholas, Sam, Hudson, Theo and Maeve. Dear brother of Christina Howe (Rick). Predeceased by his sister Veronica and his parents Nicolas and Helen. Gord was a proud graduate from Osgoode Hall Law School and worked as a Solicitor with the City of Burlington. In his retirement he enjoyed golf and time with family, but his greatest passion were his grandchildren. Private Cremation has taken place. Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON, 905-632-3333 on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 from 12 noon until time of Service in the Chapel at 1 p.m. Reception to follow at Water Street Cooker, 2084 Old Lakeshore Road, Burlington.
