Obituary

D'Alesio, Gloria Teresa (nee Peroni)
July 1, 1966 - November 13, 2019

With heavy hearts and profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of our beautiful Gloria in her 54th year. Adoring wife and cherished soulmate of Frank D’Alesio for 22 years. Gloria is reunited with her beloved parents in heaven, Pancrazio and Rita Peroni (nee Nardini). Gloria leaves behind her loving siblings, Larry Peroni (the late Joanne), Tony Peroni, Anna (Peroni) and Luciano Antolovich. She will be deeply missed by her dear mother-in-law Maria D’Alesio and father-in-law Sam D’Alesio, brothers and sisters-in-law Don and Michele D’Alesio, Guy and Rosanna D’Alesio and Anna and Ralph Biancaniello. Gloria is remembered with so much love by her many nieces and nephews for whom she cared deeply and spoiled, her loving Aunts and Uncles, cousins and friends, all who cherished and adored her. Gloria was a dedicated teacher with the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board for many years. Her strong Faith and spirituality, her devotion to prayer, her love and kindness towards children inspired everyone. She loved the outdoors, long walks and bike rides, exploring and appreciating nature’s wonders all over Ontario and countless destinations to which her and Frank ventured regularly together. Gloria was all about caring, nurturing, fostering creativity and imagination in everything she set out to accomplish. We will miss the constant flow of sweet delicacies from her kitchen along with the care packages which she would send home with us. She was determined to keep the family legacies and traditions of the Peroni household including her dedication to never leaving us without Mamma Rita’s ferratelle and stuffed olives at Christmas. Her beautiful soul and loving spirit will be with us forever. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) STONEY CREEK (905-664-4222) on Saturday, November 16, 2019 from 3-6 and Sunday, November 17, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers Sunday at 8:45 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 165 Prospect Street North, Hamilton on Monday, November 18, 2019 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington. We lost a wonderfully kind & humble woman far too early on November 13th 2019. Gloria will be missed by all those whose lives she touched. She was the lovely lady with the genuinely welcoming smile. She would also lean in: always willing to share a laugh, offer a hug & kind word, provide direction to a child at school, reach out to hold her newest neice little Rachael. ---- I first met Gloria when she was approximately 10 years young. Her big brother Larry was marrying my sister Joanne Condon. The Peroni & Condon families shared a mutually respectful, supportive & faith-filled relationship. Gloria was the youngest of us all, she was shy. She was filled with excitement at the thought of being The Flower Girl at the wedding. She was bright & observant taking notice at a young age to read social cues ( how to read a room). -----She grew into a wonderful woman reflective of her parents' greatest values. She became an Elementary Shool Teacher. It was the perfect profession for her, it provided the ideal conduit for her to use her admirable personal qualities, employ her professional skills & offer in a professional manner, her great love of children to the students whom she taught & supported. My daughter also works in the Hamilton Seperate School Board & she says: "when we see Gloria coming as "The Substitue Teacher" we know the kids will have a good day. The secondary benefit with Gloria 'on board' for the day, was that the teachers could relax knowing Gloria would cope well with the challenges of the day. Gloria provided stability for her peers also. -----Her commitement to family was exemplary. Her parents as they faced their health challenges in later life, knew they could count on Gloria always. Her siblings have had the lifelong privilege of calling her Sister. Her neices and nephews have known her unconditional love & generosity all of their lives. And then ****Gloria met Frank**** & came to know the role of spouse/wife. How happy she was to have Frank at her side & know the love of a good man. -----As much as I grieve for her dearest loved ones including her immedicate family, her extended families, her many friends & peers, I grieve most of all for Gloria, she had so much more living to do. XO XO XO------ Respectfully Submitted, Cathy (Condon) Donald.

It was such a shock to hear of Gloria's passing. She had such a sweet and gentle way about her. She had a beautiful soul. As an employee of the same school board it was a treat when she came in to supply at the school that I work at. I can picture her looking down from Heaven and smiling that beautiful smile. Rest in Peace Gloria.

Frank --- so very shocked to hear about the passing of your dear Gloria. My words are not enough to express how sorry that I am … thankful though, that you have a large circle of Family/Friends to be with you now and into the future as you grieve Gloria. I'm glad that I was able to get to know her thru these past 14 yrs working with you & visiting your home - as your condo Property Mgr. Gloria was always the gracious hostess when you held Board meetings --- smiles, fun, kind words & treats! Also, she tolerated some of our late meetings … you know what I mean! (LOL) … Pls know that I have had you in my thoughts & prayers these last few days. Kind Regards … Brian Yff (& Edie too).
