Alison and I worked with Josie in the kitchen at Aldershot High. There are a lot of great memories during those times. Although We knew Josie had health issues, we did not realize it was so close to the end. Our thought go out to Trevor, Brandon and Amanda. We are sorry for your loss.

It was heart breaking on Friday when we heard of your passing, Josie. While I knew you were struggling with your health, we really had no idea the end was so near. As you said in your last message, we'll talk again soon, I had no idea it would be the last time.

I remember when I was young, our families spending the holidays together. Your dad and my Nonna wanted their family to be close. I still have that picture of all the women in our family on your parents staircase. I was the youngest at that time around age 5.

Everytime I saw you recently you reflected fondly about those times and would try to find opportunities for us all to get together again. I'm sorry that the gathering didn't happen, and that the rest of the second and third cousins never experienced a Lauricella Christmas the way we did.

I hope now you have found peace, that you are no longer suffering and perhaps playing sicilian cards with your dad and my Nonna in the sky.

Trevor, Brandon, Amanda and the rest of your family, I am so sorry for your loss. I can only imagine how much you are hurting. But if there is one thing I know for sure, Josie was an incredibly strong woman. Stronger than I think most people outside of your immediate family knew or even imagined. I'm positive she has left some of that strength with each of you and will be a part of Josie's legacy. Sending you peace and comfort ~ Sonia
