It is with great sadness we announce the passing of George A. Ryan. Loved Husband of the late Lorna. Loved father of Michael, Sheila (Greg), Sandy (John). Adored Pops to Ryan (Derek), and Jake (Kate). George Immigrated from Ireland at the age of 21 and was a proud Canadian for the rest of his life. George joined Coppley Apparel and was Vice President of Sales for 38 years. Both George and Lorna lived to travel and circumnavigated the globe twice. They retired to Naples, Florida and spent 20 wonderful years enjoying golf, tennis and hosting parties at their house. George was a proud member of the Burlington Golf and Country Club for 62 years. In addition to serving on many committees and the Board of Directors, he was also president from 1988 - 1989. He started the Joseph Brant Charity Golf tournament. Since its inception the tournament has raised over 1 million dollars for our local hospital. Family meant absolutely everything to George and he meant everything to us. We love you with all our hearts and will miss you always. A Celebration of Life will take place at The Burlington Golf and Country Club (422 North Shore Blvd E, Burlington) on Friday May 27th from 1:30pm until 4pm. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation would be sincerely appreciated.
