Obituary for George William Lyall

LYALL, George William
Passed away peacefully at the Joseph Brant Hospital in his 80th year on Saturday, March 2, 2019. Predeceased by his wife Louise (2009). He will be sadly missed by sisters Lillian Dougherty, Patricia Easterbrook (Donald) and brother Bill. Loving and caring uncle to 10 nieces and nephews. George was a long-time dedicated member of St. Christopher’s Anglican Church, Burlington. He spent most of his working career in the hardware warehousing industry. He loved music, sports and interesting conversation. Above all, he loved his church and the many dear friends he leaves behind. He will be remembered for his kind, gentle nature and his willingness to help others in need. An ardent golfer for many years he was a member of Chedoke Golf Club, a loyal Toronto Blue Jays fan and for years, a follower of the Montreal Canadians. For the past 1 ½ years, he had been a resident of The Rosslyn Retirement Residence and the family at this time extends their appreciation to the staff for their compassion and care given to George. As per George’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at St. Christopher's Anglican Church, 662 Guelph Line, Burlington on Thursday, March 7th from 10a.m. until the time of a memorial service at 11a.m. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of George to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
