Obituary for Gail Elizabeth Willey (Hyslop)

Gail Willey was someone who made you smile when you saw her. From the funny looks, to the
outrageous comments she made, she knew how to get a rise out of you. Her absolutely
immense love of hugging everyone was well known and made everyone feel so special. Many
of us will remember her holding her camera to take pictures of her family, only to have her
finger in most of them; or heads not being in the picture but still, she would get 3 copies of
them all to share with everyone.

Her late husband, Steve Willey, would just shake his head and smile at her. The love between
them was strongly bound by years of trials and triumphs. Gail had a son-Edward Willey,
daughter-Anne Willey, son in law-Dale Saunders and daughter in law-Kim Wiley. Her
grandchildren include, Jazzmine, Sandra, John, Emily and Ben. With great grandchildren, Luna,
Thea and Baby Ivy to be born this week. She also had 2 amazing sisters, Marilyn and Lorraine
and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gail was so proud to be in the Militia. She was once a school bus driver and always talked
about the day a bad storm hit and she was the only bus out there that got the kids home and
how there was a special message on the radio thanking her. She spent the majority of her work
career as a well-loved custodian for the Halton School Board. So many amazing memories
there and special thank you’s were showered upon her numerous times.

Gail enjoyed horses and the outdoors so much and had a dog by her side most of her life. She
would take long walks and always had a smile for everyone. She was a social butterfly and very
well known for wanting to help out anyone whenever she could.

Gail will leave a huge void with so many of us. Be free, be happy and be huggy! We love you!
