Obituary for Frederick Royden Todd

TODD, FREDERICK ROYDEN (FRED)

Peacefully passing away October 27, 2019 in his 90th year to join his beloved wife Barbara (Gotch) Todd. Fred was predeceased by his parents Frederick and Grace Todd and his sister Leora Todd. Lieutenant Commander Todd served in the Royal Canadian Navy (Reserve) and in the Primary Reserve. Fred served on HMCS Star, later volunteering on the HMCS Haida restoration and HMCS Star. Fred also was an active volunteer with the R.C.S.C.C. Lion Old Buoys. He received a B.A. Degree from McMaster University in 1954 and his principal employment was with Canada Employment. Later in life while living at St. Elizabeth’s Village, he contributed his services to the Men’s Club and taught computer skills to the seniors. Fred leaves behind his nieces Donna Thomas (Terry Jackson), Kristy Gloge (Kurtis) and Carly Thomas and nephew Chuck Thomas (Marg Harris). Dear friends, the Pandzich family, Dyment family and cousins Myra (Foulis) Pettit and daughter Shayna will dearly miss Fred. Thanks to staff at Wentworth Lodge, Dr. S. Winemaker and all other physicians for their care. Fred will be remembered for his kind heart and dry witty sense of humour. Fred has been cremated and his ashes will be scattered as he wished on the same grounds as his Barbara. If desired, donations to the Friends Of Haida would be appreciated.
