Obituary for Frank Anthony Kacer

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Frank Anthony Kacer in his 87th year. Frank was the beloved husband of Bess Kacer (nee Samson). He was the loving and devoted father of Bradley, Andrea, and Robert. Frank is survived by his brother Carl (Elizabeth), brother-in-law George Garske, sister-in-law and brother-in-law MaryAnn and Bill Machacek. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Paul Sr. and Hedvika Kacer and his sisters, Mary and Hedy, and brothers, Paul and Jerry.

Frank was a kind, soft-spoken, humble man, with many talents ranging from gardening, “Mr. Fix it”, wood carving, an avid golfer, and was BBQ King. His beautiful tenor voice was part of Saint Patrick’s choir for 45 years. He always believed singing was praying. The choir was like family with the treasured friendships that developed. He was a member of Burlington Masters swimmers. Frank was a talented woodcarver and won first and second place awards for his detailed carvings from Ontario Woodcarvers Association.

Frank and Bess grew beautiful gardens and loved to travel. His life’s work consisted of many years with International Harvester and the Ministry of the Solicitor General of Ontario.

Frank leaves a legacy of grace and dignity and a great sense of humour. Special thank you to Dr. K. Voon, and all the wonderful staff at Carpenter House Hospice and at Lasalle Park Residence, for their compassionate care and caring support. PSW’s Maria and Sozit, the palliative care teams, treasured friends; Marisa Shobha, Tony, Nick A., Norma, Vince D., Andy and Diane Baker, and Jim and Jody Grierson, among many others.

As per Frank’s wishes, and that of his family, a private cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be held at Saint Patrick’s Church (196 Kenwood Ave) on Friday, October 13 at 10:30 AM.
