Obituary for Filippo Luzi

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of the wonderful and kind, Filippo Luzi, at Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at the age of 80. Beloved and devoted husband of the late Angela (2016). Loving father of Felicia Volpini (Giuliano), Mina Sardo (Peter), Antonella Lopresti (Joe) and Philip Luzi, Jr. (Tony). Proud nonno of Adriana (Alex), Giulia (Paolo) and Franco Volpini (Alyssa), Joseph, Philip (Christina) and Michael Sardo, Mariangela, Francesca and Victoria Lopresti. Dear brother of Giuliana D'Amico (Umberto), Giuseppina Olivieri (Mario), Anna Pavoni (the late Secondo), Vincenza Di Matteo (the late Silvio), Rosina Romandini (the late Annibale), Maria Baldini (the late Giustino), the late Antonio (the late Rosina), Angelo (the late Loreta) and Lino (Anna). Beloved brother-in-law to Albina and Avio Diletti. Filippo will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and extended family. He will be missed by his many friends, including those at the Club Azzurri. For over 40 years, Filippo was a talented and passionate custom home builder whose work can be seen across the Greater Hamilton area. Visitation will be at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) STONEY CREEK (905-664-4222) on Sunday, July 28, 2019 from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church, 304 Highway 8, Stoney Creek on Monday, July 29, 2019 at 10 am Burial will follow at Mountview Gardens Cemetery, Stoney Creek. www.smithsfh.com
