DABBS, Eugene Harold (Gene)
After a hard battle with Lewy Body Dementia, Gene passed away at Joseph Brant Hospital on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at the age of 77. Beloved husband of Joan for 54 years. Loving father of Tara Carruthers (Bryce) of Burlington and Scott Dabbs (Cindy) of Burlington. Proud papa of Brett and Dylan Carruthers and Natasha Dabbs, Kaity Bailey (Mitch) and their daughter Ashlynn. Gene will also be missed by Pat and Bill Wilkinson, Lynn and Mike Baker and Jackie Dabbs. Predeceased by his parents Elvira and Williams Dabbs and by his brother John.
Gene was a long-time member of the Halton Naval Veterans. He retired from Stelco Local 1005 in 2002. Gene will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Thank you to all his friends for the phone calls and visits before lockdown. A further thank you to his family doctor, Dr. Paul Hart, and the doctors and nurses at Joseph Brant Hospital, specifically 5 North and 7 South, for their excellent care and compassion.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gene to the Alzheimer Society of Burlington or a charity of choice would be sincerely appreciated.
