Obituary for Elizabeth Christina Russelo (Bailey)

Elizabeth was called home to be with her Saviour Jesus Christ, on July 5, 2021. Elizabeth or “Betty” as she was affectionately called, was in her 90th year. Predeceased by her husband and soulmate Murray (Jack), parents George and Mollie Bailey, brothers Robert, Richard (Marjorie), nephew Michael and great niece Angel Grace. She is survived by her brother Don (Sandy), sister-in-law Marilyn Bailey, brother-in-law Bob (Donna) Russelo and many nieces, nephews and their families. Betty was a devoted and adored Auntie and Great Auntie who will be missed terribly. She will be lovingly remembered by all of her family and friends.

Sincerest appreciation to Alan Green for all of his care and support. We need to sing the praises of Betty’s niece Susan Holly for her constant care, support, visits, advocating for home supports that kept her aunt at home where she wanted to be. Sincere thanks to her wonderful PSW workers from Acclaim and much gratitude for their role in keeping her in her home.

Betty was a gentle and loving person who was always willing to help. She shared her love of God through her generous heart, humble attitude and continuous examples of kindness. Her positive outlook and laughter will be missed by all that knew her, including members of Grace United Church of Burlington.

Respecting Betty’s wishes, cremation has already taken place and a private celebration of life with family will be held at a future date. Those wishing to donate in Betty’s memory are asked to consider the CNIB at www.cnib.ca.

God saw you getting tired

A cure was not to be

So He put his arms around you

and whispered

"Come with me"

Your golden heart stopped beating

Your tender hands at rest

For God took you home to prove to us

He only takes the best

John 11:25 “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live”
