Obituary for Eleanor Joan Powell (Kostur)

Eleanor Joan Powell (Kostur)
Passed away with peace and grace on Monday, July 9th, with her family at her side. Predeceased by her loving husband Edward in 1985. Beloved wife to William Ogilvie. Loving mother of Kim Marshall (Mike) and Lara Mepham (Mark). Cherished grandmother of Cassandra, Ethan, Nicholas and Owen.

Eleanor was a consummate organizer applying her talents not only to her family and work, but also as head chaperone with the Burlington Teen Tour Band Boosters for many years. She accompanied the band to many places including Europe and California. She also volunteered by serving as an Executive on her Condo Board, working tireless to make her home a wonderful place to live.

She loved to travel, especially to New York City as she did on several occasions to cheer on her favourite Toronto Blue Jays. Her preferred athletes, however, were her grandchildren who she loved to cheer for from the sidelines. She loved good food, good times and her family unconditionally.

In keeping with Eleanor’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private interment will be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations to The Carpenter Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
