TAYLOR, Eldora (nee Benham)

Passed away peacefully with family by her side at The Village of Tansley Woods in Burlington, on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at the age of 89. Predeceased by loving husband Raymond (2010). Cherished mother of Vici Taylor (Garry Currie), Robin Taylor-Smith (Gregory Smith) and the late Scott Taylor (1989) (Ursula Kaiser). Proud grandmother of Taylor Chomiak (Erika), Alex Pompili (Candice), Madeline Smith (Jorge), Stefan Taylor (Danielle) and Olivia Taylor, and great-grandmother of Osa and Ty. Dear sister of Peggy (late Carl), Jack (Betsy), late Patricia (Jim), and Karen (Allan). Eldora is also predeceased by her late son-in-law Jacques Pompili. She will be dearly missed by her many nieces and nephews and the extended Benham and Taylor families. Eldora’s passion and artistic talent spawned in-depth involvement with art groups including the East Central Ontario Art Association, Pastel Artists Canada through which she attained “Letter” status. Eldora was a founding member of the Meaford Creative Arts Association which remains a vibrant part of the community today. She also initiated a program teaching art to children in Mexico where she spent her winters. Her love of world travel and unique cultures was reflected in many of her paintings. Eldora will be warmly remembered for her talent, passion and creative spirit which was felt by all whom she touched. She made the world a better place.

Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Tansley Woods for their compassion and the loving care provided to Eldora. As per her wishes, Private Cremation has taken place and no formal services will he held. Interment will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in the Spring for immediate family members. As an expression sympathy, donations in memory of Eldora to Hotchkiss Brain Institute, University of Calgary, Alberta would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
