Obituary for Dr. Cheryl Loreen Rintoul (Kemp)

Dr. Cheryl Loreen Rintoul (born July 9, 1945) to Bud (Stanley) Kemp and Mabel MacPherson. Predeceased by her parents and her younger brother Buddy Kemp and her first husband Ralph Rintoul. Cheryl leaves behind her husband Michael Drongosky, her three children Chris Rintoul (Sarah-Jane), Jennifer Bozek (John), Susan Belza (Krystian) and her two stepchildren Cathryn and MJ Drongosky. Her grandchildren, David, Claire, Leo, Holden, Harry, Nathan, Sophie, Avaya and Olivia, and her nieces and nephew Kara, Braden and Briana Kemp.

She died peacefully, just as she lived.

Cheryl was a retired dentist who devoted her practice to children at the Dental Health Group. Cheryl was one of the first few females in her dental class and a founding member of the Burlington Dental Academy. Thousands of Burlington children grew up with no fear of the dentist because they were accustomed to Cheryl’s gentle and caring nature.

She loved sports - ALL SPORTS! She especially loved cheering for the Bills, Hamilton Ti-Cats, Maple Leafs, Blue Jays, and the Raptors, but definitely NOT the Patriots.

She was an avid athlete in her youth and participated in water skiing and downhill skiing, tennis, equestrian sports, and volleyball.

She loved to do crosswords, especially with her son Chris, play bridge and travel the world. She worked in Saudi Arabia for a few years where she would Scuba dive in the Red Sea.

She loved animals, and the feeling was mutual.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Juravinski Cancer Centre, or Burlington Humane Society. Both causes held a special place in Cheryl’s heart.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Spencer's at the Waterfront, 1340 Lakeshore Road, Burlington, on Monday July 3rd, 2023 from 6-9pm.
