Obituary for Dorothy Joy Suder (Stauffer)

It is with deep sadness the family announces the unexpected passing of Dorothy on Friday, June 14, 2019 at age 85. She was surrounded by her family at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by many. Loving wife to Don for 65 years. Beloved mother to Beverlee (Glenn) Matheson, Brenda (Don) Moase, Sue (Doug) Homeniuk. Cherished grandmother to Bryan, Brad, Scott, Danielle and Lauren. Dear sister to Wayne (Evelyn) and predeceased by brother Clarence (Wilda). Dorothy was born in 1934 growing up on a farm outside Didsbury, Alberta. Don and Dorothy were married in 1954 and moved east, living in Hamilton, Montreal, Brockville, Toronto and Burlington. She deeply appreciated the many opportunities for them to travel together, having visited over 65 countries. Mom was generous and caring, and will be remembered for her charitable acts and homemade treats. She was an active volunteer all her life, and was currently involved with the children’s program at their church and seniors at Tansley Woods Long Term Care Facility. A woman of deep faith we know she is now fully restored and rejoicing in the presence of her Lord Jesus Christ.
