JACOBS, Dorothy Lillian (Wingfield) nee Longland
1918 - 2019
Peacefully passed away in Hamilton on July 5, 2019 in her 101st year. Loving mother of Doug Wingfield (Carrie) of Lethbridge AB, Barbara Wallace (Peter) and Robert Jacobs (Yvonne) both of Hamilton. Dear Grandma to Sarah of Blairmore AB, Teresa of Lethbridge AB, Mike and Chris of Ottawa and Serena and Melissa of Hamilton. GG to Alli, Clancy, Kelly, Lisa, Jeff, Julie, Shannon, Kate, and Laura, and GreatGG to Violet, Hazel, Rory and Aileen.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Ted Wingfield (1952) and her brother Russ Longland (2001). Dorothy retired as a McMaster University student advisor in 1984 and was one of the founding members of the McMaster University Retiree Association (MURA), serving as the organization secretary until the early 1990's.
Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) STONEY CREEK (905-664-4222) on Friday, July 12, 2019 from 12 noon until time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 1p.m. Cremation and private interment to follow at a later date. If desired, memorial contributions to The Salvation Army would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
