Obituary for Donald William Beitz
We celebrate the life of Donald William Beitz, age 94, who passed gently into the realm of peace on July 17. Don was the loving husband of the late Marie Ellen Riley (2012) and dear father of David (Janet), Nelson, Russell, Daniel (Louise), Beverly (the late Rick) and Theresa (Paul). Predeceased by his youngest son Howard (Marlene) in 2018. Loved Grandpa of Stephanie (Kevin), Brian (Diana), Lyndsey (Ed), Doug (Kelly), Nolan, Sean, Elizabeth, Adelle (Christopher), Alanna (Malcolm), Richard, Denny, Neil, and Eric (Stephanie). Great grand-pop of Matthew, Haley, Jordyn, Ryan, Kai, Shepherd and Rowan.
Don was a humble veteran of the second World War, injured in the line of duty while serving as a motorcycle dispatcher. The last year of his life was spent at Tansley Woods, and we sincerely thank the wonderful staff for their care and compassionate expertise.
A celebration of life will take place on Wednesday July 24 at Smith’s Funeral Home, 485 Brant Street, Burlington with visitation at noon and the service of commemoration at 1:00 p.m. In memory, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
