Peacefully at the Hamilton General Hospital on Monday November 11, 2019 in her 84th year. Beloved wife of the late Bill Whiskin (2010). Loved mother of Alan (Carolyn), Elaine and Andrea. Cherished Grandmother to Hilary and Claire. Predeceased by parents Tom and "Nancy" Barnard, and sister Jane Ball.
Diane's love of writing has left us with many memories of her childhood in Guernsey/Somerset, England, her life in Hamilton and time spent with family and grandchildren. Diane will be remembered for her kind gentleness, always grateful for other's generosity, and her enjoyment of the simple things in life.
Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Wednesday November 13, 2019 from 5 - 8 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Port Nelson United Church (3132 South Dr. Burlington, ON) on Thursday November 14, 2019 at 11 am with a reception to follow at the church. Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to "Options for Independent Living and Development".
