LECAVALIER, Deborah Leigh Louise
nee Jackson
Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, November 22, 2019 at the Brant Centre in her 69th year. Beloved wife of Michel for 48 years and much loved Mom of Alisa Foster (John) and Rachel Lecavalier-Kellow (Mike). Loving Gran to Andy, Emily, Noel and Maggie’s special GiGi. Predeceased by her parents Patricia and Leonard Jackson and brother Sean. Survived by her sisters Cheryl Jackson (Allan Coates) and Lorraine Jackson as well as aunts and cousins in Ontario, Quebec and the United States. Deb began her career as a social worker before transitioning to teaching, her true calling. She was a gifted teacher who instilled in her students a lifelong love of reading. She taught for the Halton Catholic District School Board for 25 years. Deb and Michel enjoyed family gatherings, travelling in Europe and the USA, and most recently spending their winters in Florida. Deb was a talented water colour artist, flower arranger and seamstress. She was also an avid tennis player. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Wednesday, November 27,2019 from 3-5 and 7-9p.m. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at St. Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2265 Headon Road, Burlington on Thursday, November 28, 2019 at 11a.m. Reception to follow. Special thanks to family, friends and the staff at the Brant Centre who supported Deb and Michel, Alisa and Rachel, through this very difficult time. Donations in memory of Deb may be made to the Toronto Western Hospital Movement Disorders Clinic or Parkinson Canada.
