Donna - Martha and I are both stunned and so sorry to hear of Dave's passing. We all spent a lot of time together as partners at Hinton's and Halftime DJ Service in the mid 90's - Dave really had a passion for that business to the reason of his successful career and really did live his dream. When we first met back in November 1983 I did not think anyone could be more knowledgeable about music than myself well that was until I met Dave Hinton. I will always remember Dave's deep voice laughter that filled the room and made you feel he was really enjoying your company. No doubt he has left his mark on this world and will not be forgotten.

Most of my memories of David were from teenage years and onward. David and Donna helped bring me out of my shell. When I lived with Aunt Imelda and Uncle Paul, I started working in Oakville, at Baskin Robbins Ice Cream, and I remember David coming down to visit at the store. David was a friendly, out going person who took a genuine interest in others. David had walked me home from Baskin Robbins one night when we got provoked by a couple of young guys(or maybe it was just one) and he had a small knife and I ended up leaving David and ran home to his folks place and I don't quite remember what ended up happening but I believe he left unscathed from the encounter. My prayers are for all his family(s) and friends though I may not know, God does.

Words can not sum up the amount of love I have for this man! One of the kindest humans I have ever met in my entire life!
I met Dave when I was a very young DJ in the early 90s looking to grow and gain experience. David opened so many doors for me with his abundance of contacts and experience. I left Dave several years later to pursue working in nightclubs which I loved but we remained very good friends. His ability to stay in he DJ business for 40 years is truly amazing and any DJ will tell you very honourable. Its not an easy gig! I will miss playing catch up with you and our lunch dates we had in these last few years. I have many fond memories but one that sticks out the most was when I got him to DJ my own wedding. A DJs nightmare is to DJ another Djs pressure! He jumped ahead one song to Bride and Groom entrance music instead of playing the song we picked for my kids to enter to. So when we heard our song we came flying in with my kids in my arm and remember looking at Dave and he immediately put his hand on his face! He knew he messed up which was rare! The look on his face was priceless and something I think about every time I hear the song! Much love to the family, David was an amazing man and will not be forgotten!

Regards Tim Kennedy
