Obituary for David Paul Burton

It is with profound sadness, sorrow, and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved David Burton. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on May 20th, 2023, in his 65th year.
Born in Arnprior, Ontario, devoted loving husband to Lucy for 40 years, cherished father to Lawrence and Mallory (Paolo), and adoring Papa to Livia. Sadly missed by his loving mother Betty, sister Lianne and brother-in-law Larry, sister-in-law Maria and brother-in-law Claudio, sister-in-law Rosa, many nieces and nephews, dear friends and colleagues.
Predeceased by his adoring father Larry, and loving in-laws Giuseppe and Angela.
Dave was very proud of his family and worked hard to provide for them. He always wanted to ensure that they were well taken care of. He took pride in his home; he loved tending to his vegetable garden and grew the biggest tomatoes, inspired by his beloved Italian in-laws, who loved him dearly.
Dave worked tirelessly for Piller’s Fine Foods for over 25 years. He was a very passionate, prepared, dedicated, and committed worker. Dave never missed a day of work, and he enjoyed working through his holidays. He always took great pride in his work and made sure he fulfilled all his commitments.
Dave was a beloved and respected member of our baseball community. He had a passion for coaching the game, volunteering for over 25 years. He took pride in watching his players grow on and off the field, by instilling a team culture of humility, grit, camaraderie, and perseverance. He was loved by all his players and fellow coaches.
Dave devoted a lot of his time helping the community. He contributed his knowledge and skills at many events around the Hamilton area. He loved listening to and playing music in his spare time. His kids have fond memories of him breaking out in song or playing his guitar. Watching his beloved Blue Jays will not be the same without him.
Dave, you took a piece of our hearts with you, and we will love and miss you forever.
