Obituary for Daisy Mary Hall (Adams)

Daisy passed away on April 3, 2022 at the age of 101. She was predeceased by her husband Russell in 2011 and son Ronald in 2014 (survived by wife Lynn). She was a loving and devoted mother and will be greatly missed by her children, Stephen (wife Bette), Christopher (partner Angie), Marlene, Janice and Denise Fetherston (husband Bill) as well as her grandchildren Peter, Mike, Billy and Dave Fetherston, Michael Hall, Tobey Ashmore, Luke Hall, Adam and Ryan Hall, Aaron and Samantha Strutt and great-grandchildren Hannah and Abigail Hall, Addison and Kinley Hall-Sharp and Delilah, Taylor and Isla Fetherston.

From Ukrainian roots, she was born in Wolseley, Saskatchewan. Daisy loved spending summers as a child on her grandmother’s farm near Candiac, Saskatchewan. During the depression, at age 17, she relocated alone to Toronto to find work and help support her mother and sister. She put herself through night school and rose to the position of Personnel Manager at Parker Pen. She married Russell in 1950 and they had six children together. Daisy was a devout Catholic all her life and volunteered at her Church. She will be remembered for her sewing talents and was renowned for her exceptional pie making skills. Her remarkable life spanned almost 102 years from a home lit by oil lamps and travel by horses and buggies to jets. Having lived through the roaring twenties, the depression and WWII into the computer age and the dawn of space travel, she became a font of wisdom to her family.

Her funeral mass will take place at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 2265 Headon Rd., Burlington on Wednesday, April 20 at 11 am. Donations in lieu of flowers may be sent to support feeding the Ukraine through World Central Kitchen at donate.wck.org.
