Obituary for Carolyn Myna Sweet (Holmes)
On Thursday, July 21, 2022 at the age of 81, Carolyn passed away peacefully with her family by her side. Born December 10, 1940 in Stoney Creek, Ontario and predeceased by her parents Frank and Ruby Holmes and her sister Patricia Underhill. Carolyn leaves behind her beloved husband and best friend Robert Sweet. They shared an amazing journey together and an inspirational 62 years of marriage. Survived by her sons; Greg Sweet and his family, wife Deborah (née Harris) and children Bryan, Brad and Kyle of Burlington, Ontario and; Gary Sweet and his family, his wife Patricia (née Palmer) and children Mitchell and Megan of Metcalfe, Ontario. She will be sadly miss and forever remembered.
Carolyn lived the majority of her life in Burlington and was always busy, but would stop everything to help anyone in need. She lived life to the fullest, travelling to every corner of the world. Her friends knew her as the life of every party and she always enjoyed a good time. She was a loving wife, a wonderful mom, a fun grandmother and a great friend. With many heavy hearts, you were taken away from us far too early but now the pain is gone. You will be dearly missed by your many loved ones. We know you are watching over us with your pink cup and rum & coke in hand.
A private memorial service will be conducted at the cemetery with an interment service for immediate family.
In lieu of flowers, Carolyn asked that memorial donations may be made to Ronald McDonald House or The Cancer Society.
A Celebration of Life will follow at a later date.
