Carol Helen O’Hare (Sweet)

Passed away peacefully at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on Friday, October 18th, 2019 at the age of 75 in the presence of her loving husband, Brian.

Growing up in Montreal, Carol had 2 wonderful boys, Robbie and Donald. While building their family, Carol worked diligently to become a Nurse, eventually working at Montreal and Toronto Children’s hospital; her love and caring for children was the fabric of whom she was. Meeting Brian in 1979 in Montreal and then married in 1980, Luke and Devon joined the family in 1981 and 1982. Moving and travelling became the norm, eventually landing in Oakville, ON. Carol gave many dedicated hours and years to service to Oakville Senior’s Citizens Residence where she gained many friends. Her career later shifted to instruction at Sheridan College. Sheridan College was a place where she continued her lifelong journey of learning and later transitioned into instruction. She found this new part of her life incredibly rewarding and loved her students immensely.

Cherished and Survived by Husband Brian O’Hare of 39 years,Sister Lois Donnelly, Mother to Robert & Donald Dougan, Luke & Devon O’Hare, Grandmother to Tori Dallas, Gabrielle, Brennah, & Max Dougan, Milan & Olivia O’Hare and Great Grandmother to Isabelle Rose Harkin.

Being a huge cat lover and we must remember our special family members, Patches ‘Babies’ O’Hare (deceased) and Survived and loved by Zelda O’Hare, whom both brought so much love and joy to the family.
We greatly appreciate the empathy, care and support provided by the caring team at OTMH and by Smiths Funeral Home in Burlington ON, we thank you immensely.

The Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 25th in the comfort of her family and closest loved ones.
We are thankful and appreciate all thoughts and gifts; In lieu of flowers, please contribute to Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital or your local SPCA or Humane Society, sent in honour and memory of Carol O’Hare.

We will miss you greatly and love you more.

I first met Carol when I was expecting my second child and she and her family were living in Blackpool,England. We instantly struck up a friendship outside the school gates whilst dropping off/picking up our children . She took me under her wing and used to insist I went back to her house for breakfast on my way home. She was a generous, caring and wise lady with a great sense of humour and we kept up our friendship over the past 32 years despite the distance between us. I shall miss her dearly.
