Obituary for Cameron Alan Hegge
It is with heavy hearts we share the news that after a short but heroic battle with pancreatic cancer, Cameron Alan Hegge passed away on Tuesday August 2, 2022.
We are comforted to know that in his final hours we were by his side and holding his hands, surrounding him with love.
Left behind to mourn his loss but to also celebrate his life and the amazing man he was, is his loving wife Michelle (nee McNeil), his beloved children Michael and Sarah, his mother Marilyn Hegge and late Father Dennis Hegge, Mother in law Brenda McNeil and late Father in law Douglas McNeil, along with his sisters and brothers in law and their children who meant so much to him; John, Jennifer, JD and Dallas McNeil; Jill, Ryan, Megan and Benjamin Lovatt and Heather, Faith and Abby Postma.
Cameron loved many things; Disney, Montreal Canadiens, hockey, traveling, Crown Royal and so much more. But above all else he was all about his family and his friends who were like family to him. You will be hard pressed to find anyone who didn’t know Michael is part of the Burlington Teen Tour Band and studying music or that Sarah is an accomplished dancer with a humanitarian heart who gives back to her community. Family was everything to him and his legacy will live on in the hearts and lives of Michael and Sarah.
We would like to thank all of our families, friends, Kenneth Crescent neighbours and coworkers for your support during these past three months. We’d also to thank the doctors and especially the nurses on floor 6 Centre, pod 400 at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital for the incredible care and compassion they gave. A special thank you to Jillian and the palliative team for helping us through this journey.
A true celebration of Cam’s life will happen on Friday October 7th (2-5 pm) at the Burlington Golf and Country Club.
For those wishing to make donations in his honour, Cameron wanted to give back to organizations that played a key role in Michael and Sarah’s lives; The Angel Project on behalf of Sarah and The Burlington Teen Tour Band on behalf of Michael.
