Fairchild, Annie and Bruce
Passed away peacefully within 3 months of each other (Annie Sept 30, 2020 and Bruce Jan 22, 2021). Although they could not be physically together for the last several months due to COVID 19, their love continues on. Bruce and Annie Fairchild were married for 70 years. Loving parents to Kathaleen Daykin (Tony), Robert (the late Verna, 2012), and John (Kathryn). Cherished grandparents of Kristie, Shannon, the late Michelle (2010), Brent, Stephen, Kevin and Sherri. Great grandparents of Somer, Anrev and Bryden.
Annie was born in Dundee, Scotland in 1934 to parents Albert and Catherine Forbes. Annie was very proud of her work as an RNA and spent years working at Hamilton General and Joseph Brant Hospitals.
Bruce was born in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario in 1930 to parents Bert and Mabel Fairchild. Bruce was an operator at Ontario Hydro for thirty-six years, working in generating and transformer stations from Niagara Falls to North Bay.
They met on May 25. 1950 and married in St. Martin’s Church, Niagara Falls on July 21, 1951. Together they were long-time members of St. Christopher’s Anglican Church in Burlington and the Burlington YMCA.
Cremation has taken place. A private family celebration will be held in 2021. Arrangements entrusted to Smith’s Funeral Home, Burlington, 905-632-3333)
