Obituary for Brent Martin

Martin, Brent James John

The world lost a beloved Husband, Dad & Pops on June 29th, 2023. Brent was an incredible husband, father, grandfather and dear friend to many, he had a nickname for just about everyone. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving wife Sue " Frog" of 51 years, his children Stacey (The Ace) Rosettani, Jayme (Darla) & Michael Salvatori and his grandchildren, Andersen (Baby Girl), Ryann (Pineapple) , Estellah (Pepper) & Remi (Toad) after a long hard battle with COPD. He leaves behind cherished brothers, sisters, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was a pillar of strength and showed his passion and will to push forward and defy the odds living each day to the fullest, reminding us that it is the simple things in life that truly bring us the most joy. Brent was a man of remarkable wisdom, wit, kindness, and our best source of comedic entertainment. He would tell stories like no other and we would reminisce for hours about days gone by. In our hearts, he lived a life that was too short. He had so much more joy, laughter and light to bring to the world and left an imprint on the hearts of everyone he met. He dedicated his life to his family and his job as a Sheet Metal Worker with Local 537, consistently demonstrating strong work ethic and always eager to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He welcomed many sunrises with gratitude and found solace in nature, hunting and fishing. Brent's legacy will live on through the many lives he touched and always be remembered as a smart, generous and loving man who saw the silver lining in each and every moment.

Heartfelt thank you to Dr. Ross Allega, Niagara Palliative Care Team-Jenn, Shannon & Jenn ,VON, and Smith's Funeral Home of Stoney Creek, with a special thank you to Dana, Natasha, Sean and team; your care, compassion and support has been so appreciated. In lieu of flowers, we would appreciate donations to Hamilton's CityKidz. Growing up in an impoverished community with his nine brothers and sisters, it was a dream for Brent to see a future free of poverty and where children have equal opportunity to thrive and achieve their full potential.

Friends are invited to celebrate Brent at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) STONEY CREEK (905-664-4222) on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 from 3-5 and 6-8 p.m.
