Hicks, Bernard Dwight “Bernie”
Passed away peacefully at Hamilton General Hospital, on December 22, 2019, at the age of 60.
He will be deeply missed by Andrea, and his two sons George and Alex; two stepdaughters Danielle and Vanessa; Sisters: Eileen, Kathryn (Brian) and Susan (Nick), and sisters-in-law Sherry (Randy), Karen (Chris) and brother-in-law David (Melanie). He was predeceased by his parents George and Margaret (nee Forbes).
Bernie was a very active and social fellow who belonged to many groups and sports. In his youth he was an ace hockey player. Later a passionate rugby player, enjoyed golf, boating, skiing, camping, hunting, fishing and travelling. He enjoyed his beer and was a member of the Halton Naval Veterans Association. His stories and antics are known city wide; he never met anyone he didn’t call a friend. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Friday, December 27, 2019 from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm, where a Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers a trust fund will be set up for his 11 year old son George Hicks.
