REED, Barry William -

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barry Reed, peacefully at Joseph Brant hospital in Burlington on Monday, July 27, 2020 at the age of 73. He will be forever remembered by the Reed family, Jan Bolton, Jeff Reed (Brianna), Jennifer Clark (Kevin) and James Reed (Laura Hutchings). Proud grandfather of Ellie Clark. Dear brother of the late Lynn Bailey (Steve). Barry will also be fondly remembered by the extended Reed family as well as numerous friends. A great outdoorsman, Barry can now cross country snowshoe on pristine powder, hike new trails and canoe in unexplored rivers and lakes. As per his wishes, private cremation has taken place. To honour and celebrate Barry’s life, we welcome friends and family to join us at the Dundas Valley Golf & Curling Club, 10 Woodleys Ln, Dundas, on Friday, August 7, 2020 from 5-10pm to enjoy some food, drinks and to share your fondest memories of Barry. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations in Barry’s memory to Hamilton Burlington SPCA would be sincerely appreciated by the family.

Shocking...was the first thought I had, and saddened more than words can express. Barry was the "real deal" – and will always be remembered as down to earth, friendly, welcoming, and a true lover of nature and physical fitness.. Barry was easy and comfortable to be around - unpretentious and fun. I have many fond memories of years of playing recreational basketball with him combined with our many conversations at our favourite pubs after each game. He was such a kind hearted gentleman and it's been my distinct honour to have spent quality time with him. My one regret is we have lost touch over the years..Unfortunately, due to a previous commitment we will be unable to attend his celebration of Life at the Dundas Valley Golf Club. Connie and I extend our heartfelt condolences and sympathy to Jan, Jeffrey, Jennifer and James and the entire extended Reed Family as we share your pain at this difficult time.

Although I had met him only once at a family dinner, it didn't take long for me to see that he was truly loved by his family. I could also see the love he gave back. He loved his dog Messi that was obvious. My condolences to the family. In my thoughts and prayers
