NORMAN, Barbara Anne
Barbara passed away peacefully on Friday, October 11, 2019 at the age of 89. Beloved wife of Gerry Norman for 67 years. Loving mother of Suzanne (Malcolm), Judi and Paul. Proud grandmother of Katie Lamarre (Bruno), Matt Gunby (Fiona Mullin), Lisa Farquharson (Kevin), and Stephen Sills. Cherished great-grandmother of Riley, Rowan, and Merrill. Dear sister of Judy and the late Neil.
Barb loved to laugh and hosted many family gatherings around the pool or the dining room table. She was an avid bridge player and she and Gerry mentored many players with the intricacies of bidding. She volunteered in the pharmacy of the Joseph Brant Hospital for many years and drove for the Red Cross for 18 years. She was part of the mall walkers group and created many beautiful rug hooked pieces over the years. Her ready smile will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at St. Christopher's Anglican Church (622 Guelph Line, Burlington) on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 with visitation from 11:00am until the time of service at 12:00pm. Reception to follow. For those who wish, donations in memory of Barbara to St. Christopher's Anglican Church or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
