My condolences to you Marion on the passing of Laughton. I did not know him well, but, do know that he was a wise and dedicated priest. Having followed him as the interim at Holy Trinity, Welland I know the deep sense of loss that they had when he left as the rector. Occasional meetings after that helped me to appreciate him as a gracious gentle man. The time ahead will be challenging. Take care. God's blessings.

Dear Marion,
It is with profound sadness that I learned of Laughton's passing. He was such a kind and gentle man. I have fond memories of both of you from your years at Holy Trinity. We were blessed to have you with us. I am unable to attend the visitation or service but my thoughts and prayers will be with all of you. He fought the good fight and won.

Kim and I got to know Laughton at The Church Camp. He was always helpful, always smiling and a wonderful ambassador for that community. My best memory of Laughton is seeing him emerge from his cottage in full pirate regalia during one of our activities at the camp with the young folks.....and those young at heart. He went "out to sea" with us in our search for treasure and as I recall went to the movie theatre in Barrie....fully rigged out, to watch "Pirates of the Caribbean"! He was our leader and more importantly a leader in many other aspects of his life in the church. He will be greatly missed.

Laughton was a great friend and a wonderful Priest. I remember when my husband Roger died. I was dreading going to my cottage the following year and knowing I faced a locked door and window shutters. When I got there I found Laughton and Marion on my deck removing the door shutter so I could at least get in. That was Laughton and the way he lived his life. Rest in peace dear friend and love to all who will miss you!🙏❤️
