It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful death of Muriel, 98 years old, having been predeceased by her devoted husband of 72 years, Lloyd, in October, 2018. Muriel will be greatly missed by her daughters Dulcie Barber of Hamilton and Darlene Throop Cowling (Ian) of Burlington. Also mourning her passing are her 6 grandchildren: Michael Barber, Kristin Kushner (Bryan), Kyla Barber, Aaron Friedman (Danielle), Alysha Friedman, and Joel Friedman (Rebecca). Grandma Muriel will also be missed by her 6 great grandchildren: Bryan, Ethan, Ella and Grace Kushner, Skylar Barber Forbes and Sarah Friedman. She is survived by 3 sister –in- laws; Joyce Brydges, Gladys Fisher, and another Muriel Throop. Muriel was also a much loved aunt to Lloyd’s 15 surviving nieces and nephews and their families.

Muriel had a long fulfilled life. She was a devoted wife and mother and a popular volunteer in numerous church, school, and community endeavors in the many towns she lived in. She enjoyed travelling as a full time RVer for 11 years, then life as a snowbird to Florida. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, and entertaining their multitude of friends and acquaintances. After retirement she learned to swim and became an aquatic exercise instructor and also became an accomplished painter.

Cremation has taken place. Internment and a Celebration of Life will be deferred to a later date in the Spring of 2020. Please contact the family or revisit this website for further details as they become available.
