Obituary for Alexandre Alexandrovitch "Alex" Korobkine

We sadly announce the passing of Alexander in Burlington this week. Dear son of Amber and Alex, stepson to Tom. Brother to Mitchell, Sierra and Jackson. Grandson of Sharon, Colin, Olga and Oleg. Nephew to Tiffany, Vladimir, Dmitry and Andrew and cousin of Racquel and Colton. Friend of many.

Alexander’s exceptionally brilliant mind was both the gift that designated him a genius, and the curse that prevented him from emotional wellbeing. After years of struggling, Alexander chose to end his life to finally find his peace. His family finds their own peace in remembering the good times he had while he was alive. Alexander was an incredibly talented self-taught musician. He loved jazz music and played piano, drums, all kinds of saxophones, ukelele, recorder and just about any other musical instrument he could get his hands on. He was an avid computer coder and also enjoyed gaming. He loved gymnastics and parkour, and kept his active mind busy by taking things apart to figure out how they work. He even occasionally put them back together. He loved traveling and was always up for any type of trip. He found love and comfort in caring for animals, as well as helping younger children in school.

Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Saturday, February 18, 2023, from 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service in the Chapel at 10 a.m. and reception to follow. Instead of floral donations, memorial contributions to the Nelson High School Music Program, the Charles R. Beaudoin Music Program or the Reach Out Centre for Kids would be sincerely appreciated by Alexander and the family.

Alexander was a closed book. He didn’t share many details about his life. We would really appreciate if any friends or acquaintances can share a memory of Alexander. We will have paper and pens available to all who attend the service, and the family will find comfort in reading your memories in the future.
