HOUGHTON - HELM, Adele Bertha
August 8, 1919 – December 24, 2018
Passed away peacefully at Palermo Village Retirement Residence in Oakville on Monday, December 24, 2018 in her 100th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 32 years, Eric John Houghton, her parents, Albert and Hedwig McCormick (nee Grossman), grandson Trevor Terence Houghton, son in law, Larry W. Hammer, and ten sisters and brothers, Edward, Audrey, Wilbert, Ronald, Patricia, Mary, Frances, Joan, Kathleen, and Eleanor. Survived by brother Patrick McCormick. Also pre deceased by her husband Alvin Helm with whom she shared 15 good years. Cherished mother of Brian Edward Houghton, Randerson John Houghton, Diane Elizabeth Hammer, Terence Eric Houghton (Halina) and Roger Grant Houghton (Christine). Dear grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother by many. Adele will be missed by her brother Patrick McCormick as well as many extended family members and friends. In keeping with Adele’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Funeral Service and Interment will be held at a later date. (Arrangements entrusted to SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, BURLINGTON 905-632-3333.) Please contact for information concerning date and time of service. As an expression of sympathy, donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
