Condolence: I was his patient from or about I guess 2002 . He to me was the kindest and gentlest man . He had the most genuine interest in me as a person, what I did as an occupation . Such a great attitude to his colleges and myself . I have thought about him all this time on and off. May you and your family be comforted

Condolence: I used to be Dr. Wilson's patient when I was small to my late teens, before I left for college. He was a very nice and very funny guy. He would call me by my last name only and tell me to have a seat and ask me questions about school or hockey and he would remember everything I told him from our last appointment. If I was worried or scared about an upcoming appointment, he would reassure me and tell me I won't feel any pain. I'll always remember him and the great work he did.

Condolence From: Sue Dodds
Condolence: Dear Stewart....saying goodbye to you was gut wrenching and I always hoped I would never have to experience. I’m older and the order should’ve been reversed. We often spoke of my reducing my hours even more...to your dismay...and laughed about me possibly needing a walking to maneuver the halls..that became a joke amongst all of us.. My almost ten years with your practice has been an adventure! So many wonderful times shared...Cindy just reminded me the other day of CD Thursday’s....staff brought in favourites...among yours, Bob Marley and Johnny Cash....”A Boy Named Sue” will never be forgotten....zany Halloween costumes worn to delight your junior patients and to also honour another colleague...you also taught me the importance of enjoying a fine white wine...where would I be without my Riesling....you created a new smile for me....I am so very grateful....Christmas dinner with an abundance of laughter and of course very fine wine...I could go on....and on! Stewart, your office was a place of trust placed in your very capable hands...you always delivered the best of dental care, with a little dash of humour, cheerful banter with Cindy and love and compassion. Your dedication to your patients was obvious. I have been blessed to have been a part of this exceptional work family. As you have now been reunited with your dear Mom, I wish you peace as you continue this journey together. I shall miss you. Dear Sandy, Sydney, Sarah, Gordon and families. My heart aches for all of you. This untimely loss will leave a great void. In the days, weeks and months ahead take refuge and draw strength from others whose love surrounds you. I pray you may find comfort and peace know Stewart is in God’s unending care. My sincerest condolences and love, Sue May all of us whose lives he touched remember his gentle soul, kind demeanour and infectious smile. RIP Stewart❤️

Condolence From: Kate Green
Condolence: Echoing Aileen's wonderful recounting of our times with Stewart at Queen's...I recall so fondly the tea and his huge desk and his attention to his studies and soccer/football. He did become a good cook in the end and would consult me on exactly which of the racks in the oven was the middle one - there were 4 racks...which to use when the recipie said the middle one? I will cherish that memory so much. My deepest condolences to Sandy and their girls and to Stewart's Father.

Condolence From: Aileen Cassells
Condolence: I met Stewart at Queen's University in first year. It became clear very quickly he had a wicked sense of humour and had a talent for practical jokes. In fact it was through Stewart that I learned that being sprayed with menthol shaving cream was to be avoided at all costs. We got to know each other very well over the years at Queen's as our group of friends learned together, lived together and partied together. During our university years, I learned Stewart had a fierce sense of competitiveness in sport even if it was a pick up game in the park next to our house. A gleam would come into his eye when he accelerated past Ashley to take the soccer ball away from him. He always threw himself into a game whole heartedly. It was through Stewart that I learned how to properly make tea. He always had a set up in his room to ensure he could enjoy a hot cup of tea when he was studying. He did also learn something during those years at Queen's about cooking. We rotated the responsibility for cooking dinner. When Stewart came into the house he announced he would be making beans and toast for his rotations. We handed him a cooking book that Kate's mother had given her when leaving for university and told him that he needed to expand his repertoire. So at least he left university able to cook more than a few different meals. Stewart was a good friend who was fun to be around whether at university or after university. In fact, my summer cottage parties wouldn't have been the same without him there (even when he was trying to convince people to add a round of golf to the weekend). I still find it difficult to believe that Stewart is gone but as the Minister said at his service I will try to remember the joy and humour Stewart brought to our lives by being part of them. My deepest sympathies to Gordon, Sandy, Sydney and Sarah during this difficult time. Take care, Aileen Cassells

Condolence From: Madelyne Maingot
Condolence: To Dr. Wilson's loved ones, As much as I want to express something helpful and loving, I don't know that any words can comfort you adequately in this moment... I am inspired by all of the other beautiful messages to at least try. I really only know your Stewart as my dentist, but I want to explain to you what an impact Dr. Wilson (as I know him) has had on my life. He was without a doubt, the best dentist there ever was! I met him when I was just 6 years old, and I always looked forward to going to the dentist! What kind of kid can say that? Dr. Wilson's patients, for sure. He made every visit personal. He asked me about school, sports, my family, and in recent years, my professional developments. He always remembered what I'd told him last, and details about my family, which university I was studying at, where my dad lives, etc. His calming, compassionate, and friendly demeanour was a constant in my changing world. It's incredibly touching when a medical practitioner makes you feel like they genuinely care. On top of showing interest in his patients as people, he also had the most gentle touch during his work, and was sensitive to the needs and concerns of his patients. Looking back, he was always able to offer the most beneficial treatment options, and took a preventative approach to patient care which I really appreciated. I was so grateful to follow him through his career and for the amazing and dedicated care he provided to myself and my mum. His honesty and dependability in practice will characterize my expectations of health care providers for the rest of my life. I think extremely highly of him, and I always will. I can't begin to know the hurt you are all experiencing. My hope is that you stick together through the pain, and that you continue to feel a community supporting you. I would be honoured to help you in any way that I can at any time. I will miss Dr. Wilson so, so much. The loss of him is incredibly painful. Our hometown of Grimsby will not be the same. I'm so sorry. With love, and an open heart, Madelyne Maingot
