Obituary for Brian Wesley Hutton

Of Grimsby, Ontario, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at McNally House Hospice at the age of 77. He is survived by his loving wife Anne Marie (nee Foran). An early retirement from Dofasco Steel, after 33 years, allowed Brian to have ten enjoyable years to spend with Anne Marie, running the family-owned, Foran’s Marine in Grimsby. Brian was a seasoned boater on Lake Ontario, an avid golfer and was that friend and neighbour you felt fortunate to have. Brian was predeceased by his sisters Gloria Rauthmell (Barry) and Shirley Featherstone (Jim) and was the loving uncle involved in the lives of his many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He developed lasting and respectful relationships with those he met throughout his life, including his friends on Udell and also at the end, with the McNally House nurses and volunteers; that was Brian. Everyone lucky enough to meet and know Brian felt a very special bond from his friendship and it kept you coming back for more. Brian always made sure the people around him “were doing ok” and having a good time; as long as he was sure of that, then he was happy. We will all miss Brian dearly. As Brian wished, his cremation has taken place and no service will be held. A private, final interment will be at Grimsby Mountain Cemetery at a later date. A celebration of life will held on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at the Grimsby Legion, 233 Elizabeth Street, between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. If desired, memorial contributions to McNally House Hospice would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
