Obituary for John David McCullough

John David McCullough
John McCullough passed away in his sleep at the age of 70, on March 14, 2019, at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital after a long battle with heart disease. John will be missed by so many, but none more than his wife of 51 years, Barbara. He was a loving father to Sherri (Bruce)McIntosh, Debbie (Jeff) Crowder and John (Nicole). He loved his sons in law, Bruce his business partner and Jeff, as well as his daughter in law Nicole, like his own kids. John was a loving grandfather who was fondly referred to as Nampy or Namp by Andrew, Adam, Isabella, Emily, Ella, Ava and Myles.

John is survived by and will be sadly missed by his sister Marlene (John) Zettle and his brother Jim (Carol).
John will be fondly remembered as a loving family man, business owner and the man behind arguably the best annual Christmas parties thrown in Burlington. John loved to fish, play cards and hang out with family. He never missed a hockey or soccer game, cheer competition, dance recital or Christmas pageant and his pride in his family was visible to anyone who met him. He will be missed. His love of family will never be forgotten. We have lost our dad, our mentor, our coach, our confidant, our business guy, our negotiator, our travel coordinator, our wedding planner. But we are so grateful for the time that we had with him. He defeated the odds against him and taught us the power of love, grit and determination throughout his whole life and most recently during his battle with heart disease. His legacy will never be forgotten.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 31 between 3 - 6 p.m. at Smith’s funeral home on Guelph Line in Burlington. Donations to Wellness House would be appreciated.
