Condolence: I was saddened to learn of John's passing. I knew him through the Burlington Oldtimers. He was a real gentleman, a great teammate and fun to be around. We have lost a truly "good guy".

RIP JD.

Condolence: Dear Barb, Kim, Todd and family;

I am incredibly sorry to hear about John's passing. I only knew your family for a short time, but reading all the beautiful stories about Mr. Douglas, I understand how loved and important he truly was to your family.

I am truly sorry for your loss. I hope you will find comfort in knowing that, even though he is not with you physically anymore, as long as you share his memories with your friends and family, he will live on in your hearts and minds forever.

Condolence: I have just read about the passing of John Douglas. We met through Oldtimers Hockey (BOHC)several years ago. He was responsible for encouraging me to become a Board member. As a player, John was both a valued teammate and a worthy competitor. After a game, he could usually be found at the BOHC lounge having a "debriefing" beverage with his close friend Woody, the late Bob Wood. He and I were also part of a foursome at BOHC's annual golf tournament-not winning, but having a great time. Unbeknownst to many, John also bowled, as we participated in Kelsey's "Bowl for Kids Sake"; Todd also bowled with for for a couple of years. Regrettably, John and I lost contact when he left the hockey community.
John will be remembered for his competitive spirit, quiet, but wicked, humour and his giving nature. I miss spending time with him over the past few years.

Words cannot express the sadness we all feel. Uncle John was a great man! I have many fond memories of time shared with the Douglas clan. Great memories at the cottage watching the john’s battle with a friendly but intense game of bocce or horseshoes, our Douglas family picnics. So many great memories. You will forever be in our hearts!

Condolence: I am sorry to hear of John's passing. I will never forget "Uncle" John teaching me how to start a car way back in the Cambridge days. Great memories of Wasaga Beach too. I think he was always smiling. My thoughts, prayers and love to all of you.

Condolence: Auntie Barb, Kim, Todd and families,

We extend our heartfelt condolences to all of you. Words obviously cannot express your loss.
Uncle (little) John was a wonderful Uncle to our family. I have so many fond memories of John, all of which make me smile.
A visit from John and Barb was always a happy fun time.
When Barb was convalescing at our home after Todd was born, John would visit, and it was common for him to drag Rick and myself out of our basement bedroom so he could play a late night Ping Pong game. June would curse him, but she never stopped him.
John introduced our family to Elvis Presley and Johnny Carson. Both great entertainers.
John was an entertainer too. The Life of any party. We all shared a lot of laughs with him.
I looked up to John. He was taller than most. Seriously though, we all admired him. and our Mama, (June) loved him dearly.

You will all remain in our prayers to bring you a little extra strength this week. And Uncle John will remain in our hearts forever.
