You will be missed!

I had a long telephone conversation with Greg yesterday. I had called to whish Greg and Sue a Merry Christmas and to invite them out for dinner at Burlington Sunday.

Greg and I worked together back in the early eighties with DFO. We both were sent to Newfoundland in 1985 during the commisioning of the Cowley. Greg enjoyed the trip but hated to fly! That was so funny. Almost as funny as when we met again after 30 years this summer at Amherstburg when I joined the Limnos.

Greg walked up to the edge of the dock and while standing in the dark and with his deep voice and straight face he said. "You don't re... mem...ber Me, do ya" Well, after jumping ship to dock, we spent more than one hour, multiple visits as sailers catching up!  Greg made a dedicated career out of the Guard all these years. I am so happy that I had the opportunity to meet Greg again this summer! Even happier that we could talk as friends yesterday. Greg was happy and home! I will miss Greg, that's for sure however, his spirit is with us all!

No more rough seas for Greg.

With love and condolences to the Colbeck family,

Scott and Cindy Smith
