Condolences

Condolence From: Steve Macnaughton
Condolence: So sorry to just hear about this now. I didn’t know Ron well but really enjoyed his company the last few years when he joined his old high school buddies to watch and cheer on his Northern Secondary School high school football team. I met him through our mutual good friend, and his former classmate, Bob Zawerbny, a great art teacher at Northern in Toronto. Bob unfortunately predeceased Ron but it is comforting to think that perhaps Bob and Ron are both telling jokes and smiling once again in heaven. My condolences to Ron’s wife and family. RIP Ron.

Condolence From: Charles Almasy (400 Sqn Ret)
Condolence: Dear Sally, So sad to hear about Ron's passing. I would like to thank you for allowing my call to go through to Ron's room a few months ago. It was such a pleasure to speak to Ron, reminisce about old times and especially about the Air Reserve Open Challenge in 1970 at Chatam NB. He played a very important part in us winning the very first BGen Howard Trophie for 400 Sqn. We even had a few laughs about some of our escapades. I will cherish these moments with Ron until we meet again. My deepest Condolences to you, Family and Friends, he will be sadly missed by all whose lives he touched.. Per Ardua Ad Astra, Chuck Almasy

Condolence: Sally, our deepest condolences from Melissa & myself. Through the years, the first thing we saw at many air shows was your smiling, welcoming faces, guiding us safely to performer's parking. I can't imagine how many accidents/fatalities that the Blue Crew prevented. Their finest hour had to be @ YHM with the outhouse. Godspeed on your next journey Ron!

Condolence From: Kevin Psuta
Condolence: Long after our time together in the Reserves, he kept popping up at many air shows that I also attended, making sure with his Blue Crew that my aircraft made it safely into parking. I simply could not and cannot refer to him by any other name than Chief. He was a true aviation enthusiast with a heart of gold and he is probably hanging around the space station right now, ready to guide the next mission into docking.

Condolence From: Glenn & Lou Woolfrey
Condolence: To Sally and the family Lou & I will miss Ron greatly. Ron And my wife and I were friends and then distant friends for many years. He convinced me to leave the navy and join the air force with him in 2 ARW. It is a great loss to all who knew and worked with him. Our motto says it all. Per ardua ad astra ("Through adversity to the stars" or "Through struggle to the stars") Ron has been struggling with his health for quite a while now but he always kept a positive attitude and always had a smile. Sally I thought I would share this saying with you and your family and hopes it gives you some solace in your loss. "Perhaps they are not stars that we see but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones Shine Down to let us know they are happy"
