It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Isolina Fidanza on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 in her 89th year, peacefully through the grace of God surrounded by her loving family. Devoted wife of Venanzio for 63 precious years. Adoring mother of Anna Maria Cretaro (Massimo), Linda Fratarcangeli (Mario) and Dino Fidanza (Carla). Cherished Nonna to Melissa Cretaro-Gomes (Bruno), Alessandra Cretaro (Steve), Michael Fratarcangeli, Carina Fidanza, David Fratarcangeli and Ethan Fidanza. Most loved Great-Nonna to Matteo and Mila Gomes. Isolina was a kind, gentle and endearing woman loved by everyone who came across her beautiful smile. Predeceased by her parents, Emidio Evangelista (Anna) and late parents-in-law Gabriele Fidanza (Anna). Dear sister of Nicola Evangelista (Giannina), the late Maria Contagallo (Donato) of Italy, the late Nella Musa (Gabriele) and the late Emma Squartecchia (Alberto). Sister-in-law of the late Giulio Fidanza (Giulia) of Italy, the late Vincenzo Fidanza (Grazia), the late Domenico Fidanza (survived by Verina), the late Dante Fidanza (Concetta), and the late Albina DelleMonache (survived by Benito). She will be missed by many nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy. Special heartfelt thank you to all the nursing and personal support workers at Heritage Green Nursing Home. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) STONEY CREEK (905-664-4222) on Friday, October 12, 2018 from 2-5 p.m and 6-9 p.m. with Vigil Prayers at 8:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Eugene's Roman Catholic Church, Corner of Parkdale and Queenston Road, Hamilton on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
